Quirky Cat
Book Summary:
Theoroda Scott’s life has been turned upside down, and she couldn’t be happier about it. She started dating Connor six months ago, and they’re already engaged. Meeting the family brings up the more challenging part of their whirlwind romance.
She doesn’t have anyone to introduce to Connor; however, his family…they’re rich and demanding. So she knew this trip to his family’s winter retreat was going to be a challenge, but she was completely unprepared for what actually happened.
My Review:
I love Kate Alice Marshall, so her latest book, A Killing Cold, was an automatic buy. It’s an atmospheric thriller with countless twists and surprises; as it turns out, almost everyone on the mountain has a secret worth hiding.
I love a good layered mystery, and A Killing Cold is undoubtedly that. Theo is desperately trying to piece together the puzzles of her past…to survive the present. It’s an unexpected twist, given Theo’s earlier declarations, and that’s just the beginning.
The Dalton family quickly became one of those families you love to hate. Sure, the bunch may have redeemable characters, but some bad eggs are hidden beneath all that money.
Part of the story unfolds through flashbacks, slowing the pace slightly. Also, most trigger warnings exist within these moments, so keep that in mind. Regardless, I enjoyed A Killing Cold.
