Summary:
Miyuu Seno knows exactly what the future has in store for her. The problem? It’s not the life she picked out for herself. Like many children, her parents have meticulously planned her life.
Unfortunately, Miyuu isn’t content with following the plan. When things come to a head, she packs up her things (most importantly, her canvas) and walks away, holding onto the hope of something more.
Review:
I’m always searching for a new manga series to get hooked on (seriously, I need recommendations), so I decided to try The Essence of Being a Muse, Vol. 1. I liked the idea of playing around with muses and the like.
That said, I didn’t end up loving this series, not the way I hoped. Miyuu’s character wasn’t all that relatable, despite her very human struggles (trying to find herself and where she belongs). It felt so blown out of proportion and not in a way that serves the series accordingly.
While I don’t regret giving The Essence of Being a Muse, Vol. 1, a try, I don’t think I’ll continue this series.
