I think the problem is project management has never really been a proper discipline (in the same way marketing or engineering). A lot of people stumbled into project management almost like something to do on the ‘side of their desk’ as part of their normal job.
With the massive amount of change in progress then it needs to be a proper discipline
This is one of the motivations to write this book because I thought I could contribute to the knowledge and experience base to try and support project management generally
