Quirky Cat
Book Summary:
Alix Summers is the host of a wildly popular podcast. Despite this, she's starting to feel a bit bored with the series – and her life as a whole. So when she sees the opportunity to grab onto a new podcast series, she doesn't hesitate.
The new series will revolve around her birthday twin – a woman (Josie) she met while celebrating their birthdays. It may sound like an odd idea, but the more she learns about this woman, the more podcast-worthy she becomes.
My Review:
I'm a huge Lisa Jewell fan, so I knew I would be reading None of This Is True, no matter what. As such, I dove in without reading the description and thus didn't know what to expect. It made for a fun surprise!
None of This Is True is split into two perspectives: Josie's and Alix's. I'm not going to lie – at first, I really struggled to keep the two separate in my mind. I don't think this was the book's fault but rather a statement about my attention span at the time. But I could be wrong! Let me know if you also had issues in the beginning.
Likewise, I should mention that this book isn't afraid to get dark. I mean, this is Lisa Jewell we're talking about. Edgy thrillers are kinda her thing. There are some trigger warnings to be aware of, alongside some issues that would be hard to describe without spoiling major twists.
None of This Is True is perfect for Lisa Jewell fans. It's dark, twisted, and, best of all, it plays with the podcast/viral show trope. It's a blast to read, and you won't be disappointed.
