The Enchanted Cottage, is set in two acres of protected woodland within Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.

Surrounded by wildlife and lulled by the sounds of the cascading river and waterfalls, it's an escape from the stresses of the 'outside world'. Badgers and foxes feast in safety at night, with otters silently gliding by, whilst during the day kingfishers dart up and downstream...streaks of blue and emerald. An ornithologist's delight with nearly fifty recorded species of birds, including hawfinches, birds of prey, such as sparrowhawks, common buzzards and a pair of resident tawny owls, along with migratory visitors such as pied flycatchers.

Three hundred years ago, the cottage was a working corn mill, supplying flour to the local bakers, with the huge grind stones powered by the river which flows down from the Cader Idris mountain range. The Enchanted Cottage book is a homage to its setting and the transformations the author has undertaken in the garden and interior, filled with anecdotes, oodles of poetry, the odd tried and tested home recipe, and of course, plenty of images. The cottage and grounds really are a nature lover's paradise and the author counts his blessings every day, that it waited for him to buy it.
