Slow Burn is a slow burning emotional rollercoaster that will break your heart one minute, have you laughing the next and filling your heart with so much love.
Adam has moved to a new town to try and move on from his past. Maddie wants to be a dancer but her family wishes that she would give up the pipe dream. Maddie decides to introduce herself to her new neighbor but Adam comes off as grumpy and rude. Sheldon (aka Fugly), Maddie's dog, keeps pulling Adam and Maddie together and they eventually can not ignore their attraction to each other. Maddie wants to help Adam put out the fires of his past before the flames burn everything in their path.
Adam and Maddie's story is one of healing and takes you through every emotion. One minute I was laughing out loud, the next I was frustrated at Maddie's family and the next my heart was breaking for Adam and everything he has endured. Sheldon (aka Fugly) was the perfect meddler in bringing them together. I can not wait for more Breathing Hearts books and I recommend the whole series.
