The premise of this story seemed promising, but fell flat for me. The plot regarding Perimore and the hunt for rogue vampires was predictable. I wanted to care about Oz, Deacon and Hope, but was unable to. The first sexual encounter between the three made me very uncomfortable. I didn't like that Deacon used Hope's innate sexuality to get what he wanted from her. I did think there was a bit of originality concerning how vampires were made, but it wasn't enough to keep me interested or invested.
