The Short Story Blurb:
Jolie Tucker wished she had gone on a one-time date while the going was good. Now she finds herself spending an entire weekend in adjoining rooms in a suite at Sweet Retreat’s Spa with none other than Detective Mick Meiser. Jolie had been trepidatious since she found out he had made the highest bid at the date auction fund-raiser for the village’s local pet adoption charity. But the possibility of romance disappears when they stumble upon a red silk glove in the parking lot…that has a severed hand inside! Instead, the unlikely duo must investigate who the hand belongs to…and where the rest of the body is.
Did Cinderella lose her red glove?
Jolie Tucker is our main character and our sleuth. She's the narrator of her series, and it was done so well. We follow Jolie from leaving Leavensport to the city so that she can have a romantic first date dinner with Mick. Except per usual nothing turns out the way we want it to. This story is a fast little read that I so enjoyed. I am giving it a five-star rating.
Jolie Tucker is a pretty great character. I think that if we were ever to meet in real life that we would be best friends. Literally, I hate crowds and I would rather be listening to music and reading. Her restaurant that she co-owns with Ava is pretty interesting and one that I would like to try. I did try her recipe out, and I think it turned out great.
