Can Macy figure out who is trying to kill Carolina?
Macy Hatfield
Macy Hatfield is our main and point of view character. She is an interesting main character, and I have to say that I like her a lot. I felt bad for her about her whole back story and what was happening in this story. Wow, it is quite a doozy. Macy is a great main character and sleuth. She was good at getting most of the clues correct but was putting them to the wrong person, which we occasionally do. Macy knows her flaws, and despite them, she has always tried to do better than before. I think that we would be friends, especially since I wouldn't mind spending time in the barks section.
The Mystery
Macy helps out an old childhood friend, Carolina, by figuring out why someone is trying to kill her. Well, it's just one doozy of a thing after another on this one. Many potential suspects, but trying to figure out their motive, is really hard when they don't really want to talk to Macy. So, Macy has her work cut out to solve this mystery. Especially since someone maybe getting hurt, that isn't Carolina? What is happening at this fair?
Five Stars
Fair Trade by Heather Day Gilbert is a great book by this author who is really talented. I am loving this Barks and Beans Cafe Cozy Mystery as it has a lot of different things connecting it that makes it different than other cozies that I have read. Macy goes through a lot to figure everything out. But will the culprit get away scot-free? I am giving this book 5 stars and recommending it to anyone that likes coffee and dogs!
