This workbook provides an essential introduction to ABRSM's Practical Musicianship examinations, Grades 6-8. A number of practice tests are provided for each of the tests in these examinations, illustrating the range of the various questions and offering candidates important practice material. In addition, useful preparatory information and exercises are given where appropriate, providing a focus for pupils' work and helping to build up their confidence. The skills
tested in these examinations are very important in the development of general musicianship and teachers and pupils will find here much of value to complement their music learning. The book will in particular be very helpful to those preparing for the Advanced Certificate, since the musicianship
tests of that examination are identical to a number of the tests from Practical Musicianship Grade 8. Also, some of the tests are similar to tests found in other of the Board's examinations - for example, sight-singing a lower part and answering questions on a extract of music from the higher grade aural tests, or the practical realization of a figured bass from the higher grade theory examinations - for this book to provide useful additional and complementary practice and exercise. The
workbook is marketed with both teacher's and pupil's copies combined, while additional pupil's copies are also available separately.
