Blocked is a best friend's sibling, slow-burn hockey romance which is told from the first-person point of view and is part of the Boston Terriers Hockey series and can either be read as part of the series or as a complete standalone.
Shaw has always paid attention to his best friend Marshall's little sister but when she turns eighteen and graduates high school all of a sudden he is starting to see the woman that she is becoming and his attraction to her is growing. Maddie has had an attraction to Shaw for as long as she can remember so when he starts to pay more attention to her she thinks it is too good to be true. As they spend time together they begin to like each other more and more but the only thing standing in between them is Marshall. Shaw tells Maddie that he is going to tell Marshall how he feels about her when he returns from camp but when he picks his best friend over her she walks away broken-hearted. A year later Maddie starts at Boston University like she's always dreamed and determined to forget all about Shaw. That is until he makes it his goal to win Maddie's heart back for good.
Jacob Chance has become one of my favourite, never miss authors as he knows how to keep his readers hooked to a story right from the beginning and always puts a smile on your face. Shaw and Maddie's story is no different and is full of friendship, heartache, family and love. Their story starts as a friendly crush turned real which then moves into the enemies territory for a little bit after Maddie misunderstands and does not let Shaw explain to a second chance romance. Throw in some hockey and an adorable puppy and you have a shutout victory of a story. This was my first Boston Terriers Hockey book and I am looking forward to catching up on the series in the near future!
