The full-circle effect is weird here: there is no development for the protagonist within the night this novella takes place, thus it seems like this: "She was a struggling actress; her dad offered her a role in his upcoming film. Upset, she left for a concert, had sex with the musician, and came home. She decided to take her dad up on his offer."

It just doesn't make any sense. There's no explaining it/why she now wants to be in his film, because for the duration of the text, she's obsessed with pleasing this dude...which brings up another issue:

Can we please stop having girls partake in lesbian sexcapades for the male gaze? And can we also stop writing them so shitty? All the sex was was about what the guy wanted; it was ridiculous. There was nothing about what the women would want -- it was a threesome, by the way, and he didn't even change condoms between each woman.

The wiring was mediocre, more telling than showing.

It reads much better if you pretend the singer is a masculine woman.
