Quirky Cat

I’ll admit that this series wasn’t quite as uplifting as I had been anticipating. That’s completely my fault. I made an assumption based off of the title and the cover, and it was not a correct one. I suppose that’s why they have a saying about making assumptions. I picked up this comic expecting a light and interesting read; instead I got a psychological introspective comic, with a super powered human not even being any of the primary characters. In many ways I respect that, so I want to give credit where credit is due.
I should mention that there was one scene (technically its split into two, but it revolves around the first one) that I found terribly upsetting. And no, it wasn’t the final revelation of the issue. I could feel that one coming from the beginning. I’m referring to the scene with the cat. It upset me, and worse I didn’t feel like it actually added to the plot (where other implied graphic scenes did). Though I’m obviously a bit biased and all…
I’m honestly not sure if I’ll continue this series or not. I’m curious about the character and where everything is going to lead, but at the same time it is so very heavy. Sometimes when I read comics I just want an escape from the world, so reading something heavy isn’t always my first choice. I guess I’ll have to see how I’m feeling when the next issue comes out.
