Side note before I begin: The tribute to Stan Lee at the beginning of this issue (and all the other issues that came out this week) is absolutely beautiful. I love seeing tributes like these, I really do. And I have to give bonus points for having the tribute at the beginning of the comic (not that I’m faulting any of those that included it in the back of their issue). It was a nice touch.
West Coast Avengers is the perfect balance of action, drama, and humor as far as I’m concerned. The group dynamics are still balancing out, which makes a mess like the one they’re in that much more difficult to handle. It does however make for great reading for all of us!
I know one of the scenes has been heavily shared on twitter, and since it’s not really a spoiler I feel comfortable talking about it too. There’s a scene that shows Quentin’s shirt very clearly, and it reads ‘bring Cyclops back.’ No, I’m not kidding. They’ve made their opinion on the matter VERY clear! Even knowing it was coming I still laughed out loud at that bit.
I’m still absolutely shipping Gwen and Quentin, so bless this creative team for always giving me something to live off of each issue. But seriously, I can’t believe how well the work – I never would have believed it if somebody tried describing this ship to me a year ago.
I’m anxious to get my hands on the next issue. I have SO many questions. Questions that I can’t list out here, because they’re major spoilers. Let’s just say that I really want to find out what is going on with the main plot, as well as with the subplot for Kate Bishop. Is it next month yet???
