First of all, the artwork for this issue is absolutely amazing! I’ve never seen so many artists work on a single issue before, but man are the results worth it. This issue wins the award of favorite artwork (so far) this year. It’s that good.
I loved this issue. I feel like it had a bit of that ‘we can’t trust the story’ vibe (like when Joker explains his backstories). I believe that there are some elements she told us that are true, but realistically I don’t think it’s all true. We’ve learned that lesson far too frequently from Saffron to believe anything else.
I will say that I loved the little twist at the end. It tied this standalone (I’m assuming?) issue in with the main Firefly plot. It was perfect, and not such a big deal where you couldn’t just read this issue if you felt so inclined.
