This was funny. I liked Despina and her snarky banter with Jalal. Particularly when she tells him she can ask him one question about women he can't answer. And then asks him to tell her, her name. LMFAO. The romance between them was pretty lighthearted without any particular depth. The ending was kind of abrupt though. 3 stars.
As with Ahdieh's previous works, this was beautifully written. She could probably make a shopping list sound gorgeous. But, as with a majority of novellas/short stories, I am left wanting. I did like getting the peek into the past to see how the relationship between Despina and Jalal bega, and I thought the banter was great, but, like I said, I was left wanting more.
If you like short stories, and are a fan of this series, you will love this.
