Tirade is one of those sequels where it’s like an endless list of tasks and challenges for the characters to complete. Once they solve one problem, another one immediately arises, they solve that one, then there’s something else, and so it goes. I don’t really like this plot format at all. It’s like the challenges are completely unrelated because there’s no overlap. The characters deal with one thing at a time, so it feels long and drawn out. It also just doesn’t feel natural. Some of these events could pop up before the previous one is figured out. It’d be more of a challenge and be more exciting.
There are several twists and reveals in Tirade. There are a few character deaths as well, which didn’t affect me at all, sadly. I’m definitely ready for the final book, so I can put this series behind me. The first book had a lot of potential, but the sequels have felt like a lot of forced material for the sake of making it a series.
