Angie

I absolutely loved the first half of Broken Resolutions! Penny's friend and coworker, Angie, has planned a very interesting evening much to Penny's horror. The library definitely gets X-rated after hours! Each game was more cringe worthy than the last, but it was so much fun and created a lot of tension. If only my local library would do something like this!
However, the second half kind of lost me a bit. I love a stranded together plot, and this one could have been great if the characters hadn't suddenly gotten annoying. Jack did bother me a bit in the beginning because he wants to convince Penny that he's the man for her and isn't a liar. Except that he tells her that he's an accountant rather than one of her favorite authors. I understand why he did that, so I gave him a pass. He'd tell her eventually, right?
But then Penny, who wants honesty above all things, also lies to Jack about something stupid. Then freaks out when she finds out who he really is. I get that she hates lying and that's perfectly acceptable. But they had know each other for approximately 8 hours, so there's no reason for her to expect to have known every single detail about his life. They just met! They're allowed to hold back until they're sure about the other person!
I did enjoy Broken Resolutions a lot though. It has a hilarious and steamy premise. It was just that inevitable fight that rubbed me the wrong way. If Penny and Jack had continued to date and he still hadn't told her, then I could get behind it. But as it is, 8 hours doesn't give you the right to know all of someone's secrets. And I could have done without the declarations of love at the end as well. Again, it's been 8 hours!
