Warrington Rugby League club has, from its launch in 1879 as a rugby union outfit through to its present incarnation as Super League's Wolves, held a perennial position among the elite. That pre-eminence is due in no small part to the many great players who have worn the famous primrose and blue, from the likes of Alf Boardman in the Northern Union era through to such as Lee Briers and Adrian Morley in the modern game, including such revered figures as Brian Bevan, Harry Bath, Gerry Helme, Parry Gordon, Alex Murphy, Mike Gregory and Des Drummond along the way. Such men have helped Warrington acquire an array of Rugby League's most prized silverware. 20 Legends: Warrington Wolves pays tribute to those players, and to their contribution to some of Rugby League's greatest occasions, including the replayed Challenge Cup Final in 1954 when over 100,000 fans packed the slopes of Odsal Stadium, Bradford, to watch the Wire beat Halifax. Warrington's victories at Wembley in 2009 and 2010 bring an ongoing adventure through to the present day in an unbroken record of success spanning almost a century and a half.
