The Broken Wheel was popular with teenagers for a mix of live music and recorded music from artists on record labels such as Tamla Mowtown, Stax. Atlantic, Ric-Tic, Okeh, Gordy, Invictus, RCA and MGM, to name but a few from the era. This music made a huge impression on teenagers across the country, and, for a few unforgettable years, the youth of Retford shared this experience, in an old grain warehouse, by the Chesterfield Canal where music and dancing created eternal memories.
