Ever wondered how Michael Keaton rose to stardom?
Keaton, whose real name is Michael John Douglas was born on September 5 1951 in Forest Grove, Pennsylvania. His mother, Leona Elizabeth (Loftus), was a homemaker. His dad, George A. Douglas, was a civil engineer. In the small Pennsylvanian town, Keaton grew up as the youngest of his six siblings.
He attended Montour High School and went on to study speech at Kent State. He attended college for two years and then moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
As a young adult living in Pennsylvania, he quickly landed a job as a stagehand at WKED - a public broadcasting station.
Hours of working the camera, rolling up cable and adjusting stage lights eventually led him to the set of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
