Cisco developed the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional (CCIP) certification to address the growing needs in the telecommunications and service provider industries for individuals competent in infrastructure or access solutions in a Cisco internetworking environment. Candidates must pass three exams -- two core and one elective. Multicast and QOS (Quality of Service) is a core exam that covers key Cisco technologies related to IP multicasting and IP quality of service mechanisms in the Cisco LOS.
