The publication of "Climate Register" coincides with an exhibition held at the Architectural Association in October 1994 and is the result of research by a group of students in the Diploma School under the authors' direction. It examines four Smithson projects: two built works - the Economist Building and the University Building at Bath - and two unbuilt works. The text analyzes these projects in terms of their intention in dealing with the influence of climate and the effect this has had on design and realization. It illustrates all four projects with the original Smithson drawings and photographs taken both at the time and recently, together with drawings specifically produced to enhance the characteristics of the elements, and photographs of models which have been made of the same elements. "Imprint of India" was inspired by a visit to India. It aims to communicate the author's interest in the relationship between climate and the making of buildings. Each spread shows a collage of images collected by the author, with text superimposed to evoke its content.
