Directory-Enabled Networks (DEN) is a specification developed jointly by Microsoft and Cisco Systems. DENs tie together many network operating systems. The book seeks to allow network administrators to build a single point of administration to manage other directory services such as Novell NDS, Microsoft Active Directory and Netscape NDS. The author first covers the specification, and then goes into the details of how the specification will be used within the corporate network. Finally, he provides a resource guide to the many vendor implementations available. The accompanying CD-ROM contains demos and utilities from Microsoft, Novell, Cisco, Netscape and other major vendors, white papers, and standards information.
