If you are or are planning to become a professional computer technician, chances are you will be required to pass the A+ Certification Exam developed by CompTia. Most major computer manufactures and resellers including CompUSA, Packard Bell, Intel, Hewlett Packard, Apple, Compaq, and Microsoft now require all of their service employees to be A+ certified. As a result, the number of applicants taking the exam has grown from 2,000 in the last half of 1993 when the test was first offered to more than 35,000 in 1996. In the first quarter of 1998, CompTIA will be revising the test. This revision will cover the new test.
