Twenty-year-old university student Krista Larson has spent years trying to disassociate herself from her quirky, dysfunctional family; to leave her poverty-ridden childhood behind and to pursue her dreams of success. But when her mother, Sharon, offers to pay Krista to take care of the family while Sharon goes away for two weeks, Krista agrees to take the job, knowing that she needs the money for her education.
