I know, if you've read the other books, (which you really need to do) it is impossible. So is being able to turn into anyone you want or jump around the planet despite the fact it flies through space as fast as you can jump from point a to point b. But hey, they don't call me Shift because I can drive a manual.
... We had shut them down, proving you can't have your Killer Cake and eat it too, or rather make a superhuman and it expect to control it. BD had taken a lot of pleasure in proving that one. Their bases laid in ruins. Shadow had fried every single electronic device they had data stored on by tracking the electronic energy signature down to the last thumb drive and external, off location server. And I had taken care of the personnel, in my own, `wake up on the wrong side of the padded room' sort of way.

Oh, and Stargazer had brought Black Dagger back from the dead.

Can't forget that part.
