This volume documents "Cow Parade London 2002", an outdoor public art parade held in summer, 2002. More than 300 life-size decorated fibreglass cow sculptures were put out to graze in London's parks, galleries, tourist spots and public spaces (anywhere you expect not to see a cow). Damien Hirst and Ringo Starr were joined in cow-customising by other celebrities, artists and schoolchildren. An auction of the bovine stars followed the 12-week parade, with proceeds benefiting the children's charity Childline, headed by Esther Rantzen. "Cow Parade London 2002" features the cows, artists, locations, and how the bovine masterpieces were created before they were let loose on the city.
