This work is concerned with the architecture/art design of buildings in Berlin in the 1980s. Some articles are drawn from a series in the Berlin "Tagesspiegel" and others come from a subsequent series on architectural achievements in East Berlin as well as from other German architecural publications sources. Among the West German architects covered are Frei Otto, Gottfried Boehm, Otto Steidle and Oswald Matthias Ungers; among other architects mentioned are Charles Moore, John Heiduk, Rem Koolhaas, Elia Zenghelis and Hans Hollein. The critical assessments in the book are largely subjective ones and not objectively academic.
