Ruby Wax has had a varied career, including as actress in the RSC and as a scriptwriter for "Not the Nine O'Clock News" (also in US she wrote sketches for "Cheech and Chong" and Steve Martin). She has become a huge star in the UK, starting from "Girls on Top" with French and Saunders in 1985, leaving to start her own TV series on Channel 4, "Dont Miss Wax", plus documentaries like "Miami Memoirs" and "East Meets Wax". This book tells her story, her home-life and her parents' Miami condo which is filled with widows who all come to the poolside in gold jewellery on Fridays and their silver on Saturdays.
