Captured Voices is an anthology of poems and prose by people from this century who have had experience of torture, imprisonment and exile. Pieces range from well-known writers such as Brian Keenan, Ken Saro-Wiwa, Eric Lomax and Sheila Cassidy to unknown writers who are clients of the Foundation. Countries include Iran, China, Rwanda and Chile. The anthology is divided into six thematic sections - Loss, Identity, Impact, Bystanders, Survival and Exile - giving the reader a sense of the psychological and emotional journey travelled by many of those who have survived torture and who come to the Foundation for help.
