An investigation into the biblical foundations of the doctrine of the Trinity. This book argues that, despite its so-called 'orthodoxy', the classical doctrine of the Trinity is unbiblical. There is no scriptural text that teaches the 'threeness' of God. The Trinitarian 'Persons', God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit cannot be identified in scripture. According to the Bible Jesus Christ is the begotten Son of God, not the incarnation of an 'Eternal Son'. Scriptural texts that appear to show a pre-existent 'Eternal Son' show nothing of the kind. Texts used to support a Trinity have better interpretations in terms of the one God who manifests Himself as Word and Spirit.
