The "Primary Art" series, made up of three illustrated teacher's books, has been designed to meet the requirements of the art National Curriculum at Key Stages 1 and 2. The first two teacher's books, "Understanding in Art" and "Investigating and Making Art" are linked to the three art Attainment Targets, while "Principles and Practice" provides an overview of the entire project. Each teacher's book shows a wide range of pupils' work to illustrate good practice, teaching strategies and assessment requirements, and each contains detailed advice on cross-curricular links with other subjects. The books can be used both independently and in conjunction with one another. The pack of picture resource cards includes 24 full colour cards and a supporting teacher's book. The cards are intended to introduce children to carefully selected works of art, and should stimulate discussion. Suggestions on helping young pupils to evaluate art critically (with particular reference to Attainment Target 1, "Understanding Art") are included in the teacher's book. This evaluation pack contains a copy of each of the teacher's books, as well as a pack of picture resource cards.
