Not for the narrow-minded,as this book is hot! To say the plot has twists is an understatement. This has hair-pin bends which take you one way, then throws you off in a completely different direction than you expected. This is the first time I haven't fallen in love with the characters because their actions at time just beggar-belief! However that is just part of the overall reading experience. Enjoy. Because you know you'll want to!
This book definitely wasn't what I was expecting. If you're looking for a sweet romance, loving marriage, DEFINITELY not the book for you. But if you want something erotic, bit of suspense, here you go!
We have Stephanie Bradford, a rising district attorney, perfect husband (even though she struggles to see that), things seem to go pretty well for her life, what's there to complain about? It doesn't take long for things to go south, and that all happens when she meets Derrick. A man who knows how to keep things hot and wanting more, but full of mystery. Cheating, lies, deceit on top of some steamy sex scenes, that's what you'll read about.
Stephanie, girl just needs to be a bit more thankful and open with what she wants, especially from her husband. She was a lady who wasn't feeling her sex life with her husband. After meeting Derrick, who adds the steaminess in her life, she feels like she's on top of the world. Her job has given her a huge case to handle, she's getting what she wants out of sex, and THINKS she's falling for a man, she barely knows at all, but is also cheating on her husband.
Jacob, he's definitely the perfect husband, he's quite the gentleman. Retired Air Force guy and now is a pilot for the airlines. He thinks he has it all.
Derrick, sexy man, that's kind of an a**hole, no , he definitely is, especially towards the end. He seems to genuinely care about Stephanie, but things can change.
This book threw me through a loop, things happened that I just didn't seem coming, which kept it very interesting and I was able to read it in one sitting. I will say that this book wasn't for me, there's a lot of things that I don't agree with and that's cheating. And to top it off, her husband is retired military. It hits a close nerve, I haven't experienced it personally, but inevitable it happens all the time, not in the military world, but everywhere. And I've heard one too many stories, where it's just absolutely heartbreaking. I don't agree with cheating, no matter the situation, and it's pretty hard for me to read about it, first hand. And I'm the type of person, where something like this will completely change my mind from continuing to read a book, but I had to finish it.
I liked the suspense part of the book, there were so many things that I just didn't see happening. It was like bam-bam-bam, and that part kept it all very exciting. The sex scenes were pretty darn erotic and a bit BDSM, if you like all those, you'll love these scenes.
The writing is great, it flows really well and it is very male mind-set, which is a first for me to read about. There's a certain scene that occurs that a woman wouldn't necessarily write about, or at least, I haven't seen. To be honest, Anthony Bryan is the second male author that I've read from. And I'm definitely not disappointed!
For me, personally, the book was ok (for personal reasons). I know plenty of readers will enjoy the erotic scenes, but this one hit a bit too close. And just wasn't the book for me. After everything that happened in this book, Jacob is my favorite, and there were certain things that I wasn't expecting for the end.
However, note to the author, just wanted to say thank you for serving our country!!
