Prior research has found there to be a strong link between agricultural growth in India and poverty reduction. This joint DFID - World Bank Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) impact evaluation assesses the World Bank Andhra Pradesh (AP) Irrigation II and III projects, and the DFID AP Rural Livelihoods Project (APRLP). Key evaluation questions include: Have the supported interventions raised incomes among the rural poor? Do income gains appear to be sustainable? Have income gains been achieved in a cost effective manner?
