Authors Introduction
I have to admit, I never read the introduction to any knitting book. My only interest is in the patterns, I just want to knit. So if you are like me you won't even be reading this bit. So I am keeping it short. 20 designs from my heart and head, all created at The Wool Sanctuary, my home and my sanctuary. No complicated patterns, why would there be? You have to follow them, but more importantly I have to write them.
Focus is on colour and 3D shapes, my favourite two styles of knitting. And nothing more complicated than stocking stitch, reverse stocking stitch and garter stitch, my three favourite
stitches plus all colourwork in the intarsia technique. No tutorials taking up valuable pattern space and a book small enough to fit in your knitting bag or handbag.
Who is Janet Smith? Apart from being an alien, she is my sister. In my eyes she is the best sister to me, the best mum to her children and best daughter to our mum but the worst knitter ever.
