A journey round Britain to try to discover a Jesus who fits human nature as we understand it today, bearing in mind all we now know about the way sexuality, aggression and vanity inform our mental make-up. On the way Lewis will criticize representations of Jesus in art, literature and popular culture, but he will also criticize the performance of people who imitate Christ, particularly Church of England vicars. His journey will follow the major events of Jesus' life in chronological order and pilgrimage routes, particularly the one that follows the supposed footsteps of Jesus on his journey to Britain, accompanied by Joseph of Arimathea.
