One of the most important events for a young woman of marriageable age to attend is a country house party. Even though the last thing Olivia wants to do is find a man, she is forced to put herself on the market. When she meets the handsome and unentitled William, she never suspects she might have met her match.
So many regency romance novels drone on for hundreds of pages, waxing about the dress and customs of the period. I loved this Scandalous tale as it cut to the quick from the get go. I was pulled right into the story from the first chapter, throughly entertained and enticed until the end.
I adored Maxton's depiction of the spunky yet classy Olivia. The way her relationship with William develops is unique and original. The Love Match is a quick, saucy regency romance with spirit and elegance.
This was my first experience reading Lily Maxton, but I can't wait to read more. The Love Match is the third in the Sisters of Scandal series, but can be read as a stand alone. I look forward to reading the first two stories of Olivia's sisters. The Affair chronicles the eldest sister, Elizabeth, and her path to new love after losing her husband. Middle sister, Anne, gets her shot at love in The Wager.
Thanks so much to Entangled Publishing and Elizabeth Maxton for providing me with a copy of The Love Match in exchange for an honest review.
