The book begins with a techniques section that explains the basics of stamp decorating - from buying stamps or making your own with rubber, wood or lino, through to applying paint and creating special effects, with many helpful tips for working on different surfaces such as wood, cotton, linen, canvas, calico and muslin. The two main sections of the book feature furniture and soft furnishings, then fabrics. There are 30 original projects, from an Egyptian-style table top and country cabinet to a seashore throw and two-tone scarf, with step-by-step illustrations and photographs of the finished results. A template section at the back of the book makes designing easy, with a wide range of stamp motifs to choose from, including folk art, heraldic, seashore, heart, star, rose, cherub and vine-leaf themes.
