Games are well established as powerful teaching aids, and they have great potential for religious education. This book is a flexible resource providing ten games which teachers can integrate into their RE programme in order to meet specific Attainment Targets in their local agreed syllabus, enhance and reinforce other forms of classroom learning, revise material originally studied in a different way and provide a form of assessment free from some of the restrictions imposed by more traditional methods. The games in this book, which have all been tested in schools, are designed to be fun as well as educationally worthwhile. Each game is presented in one basic version with photocopy masters for producing the board and/or cards needed by the players. Notes for teachers explain how each game may be played and suggests how each can be adapted for different abilities and different RE objectives - by changing a rule to make the game harder or changing the words on a set of cards to cover alternative content, for example. The multifaith balance can be adjusted to suit individual schools.
