This new book tells of the decisive three day battle that took place between soldiers of the Canadian 3rd Division and those of the Hitlerjugend in the villages of Normandy shortly after the D Day landings.

The book includes a huge amount of previously unpublished material - especially veteran accounts of the fighting and many images.

Geographically it covers the actions around Putot-en-Bessin, Rots, Bretteville, Authie and Putot. The book also seeks to clarify whether Siebken was guilty or innocent of ordering the shooting of Canadian prisoners of war for which this engagement became notorious.
