Brian Skinner served in the Royal Navy from 1955 to 1988. He gained his wings as a Helicopter Pilot in February 1962 and joined 845 Naval Air Commando Squadron on formation in April 1962. The Squadron worked up and embarked in HMS Albion for a Far East Commission in September that year. On 14th December he was landing Royal Marines in Borneo. This was the start of what turned out to be nearly four years of Fleet Air Arm involvement in supporting Malaysian activities threatened by Indonesian aggression - known as Borneo Confrontation. A large number of Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army and Royal Air Force units plus Australian and New Zealand forces were involved at varying times during this period as well as Malaysian units. This book brings together a number of personal stories and reports of many of the Fleet Air Arm personnel involved.
