Thomas Hennell was an artist whose delightful water colours of rural subject are now much sought after. During the war, Thomas Hennell's skills were put to use as a war artist. Sadly, he was killed by terrorists in 1945. His wartime work is in the Imperial War museum and his rural subjects feature prominently in the Museum of Rural Life, Reading. This book features over 100 images of windmills and their machinery. Fortunately, the paintings and drawings included in the book were found in a barn by the author. They portray the workings and settings in the landscape of windmills in a way never captured on film.
