For many decades now, the private collector Peter C. Ruppert and his wife Rosemarie have been building up an art collection consisting of more than 240 works which serve to illustrate and document the expansion and development of concrete art throughout Europe from 1945 until the beginning of the 21st century. This book presents an extensive overview of the collection, featuring the works of 171 artists from 22 countries. The collection includes the geometric forms and pure colours in the paintings of Victor Vasarely, Josef Albers and Max Bill and the beginnings of computer art with Manfred Mohr, as well as virtual sculptures by Gerhard Mantz and more recent photographic works.
