Cambridge French is a five year, activity-based course designed to make the study of a foreign language exciting and stimulating for learners aged 11-16. Using material appropriate to their interests, growing maturity and linguistic attainment, the course steadily expands students' ability to use French to communicate, and encourages them to progress to the best of their ability. It has been prepared by a team of authors to ensure that continuity is maintained, and that learners' personal and linguistic skills and knowledge of vocabulary and key structures are built up and recycled systematically across the 5 years. Mediatheque is the second year of the course. It takes the format of a youth encyclopedia to present a wide variety of topics of interest to 12-13 year olds, ranging from pop groups and circus acts to the adventures of Claude Caverne, a fictional Stone Age man transported by aliens to the twentieth century.
