It also provides background information about the period. This book takes a detailed look at farming in Ancient Egypt. The author examines the transition from nomadic lifestyles to early civilization and carefully considers the reasons why the fertile lands around rivers in the Middle East, and the Nile in particular, were conducive to the formation of the first farms. She describes the involvement of the whole farming community in the various tasks undertaken by Ancient Egyptian farmers. The book includes illustrations of paintings on the walls of tombs which provide us with evidence about the lives and works of Ancient Egyptians.
