A sick child and her worried aunt, nightmares and a world of fantasy where historical personages mingle with creatures of fantasy and terror and the gods of Earth's civilizations. A family of unknown origins faces the challenges brought to them by the dreams of a sick child; and a daring aunt will do all she can to protect her. Elsie is a child whose illness manifests in horrible nightmares and growing physical weakness. Ondine, her loving aunt, finds a way to rid the child of the nightmares that plague her every night.
