Designed for Key Stages 3 and 4 of the National Curriculum and published jointly by BBC and Longman, "Etoiles" offers a range of multimedia resources which aim to encourage learning by capturing the interest of the students. It provides a systematic series of interest-led activities for pupils to enjoy while they learn. At each of five levels, the course comprises a student's book, teacher's book, simulation material, a resource file (including copymasters, progress records and flashcards), cassettes and a BBC School Television series. This teacher's file offers suggestions for teaching and IT applications, National Curriculum charts, cassette transcripts and cross-references to the BBC TV series. "Etoiles" avoids hypothetical activities - like ordering food students never eat - and instead opts for activities which learners can relate to here and now.
