SONAR X Producer (or Studio) is a digital audio workstation, meaning that it is a software environment for recording, editing, mixing, and mastering digital audio alongside MIDI data. It is used to compose, arrange, and record music in any style. It is used by musicians, DJs, remixers, and recording engineers to create music for CDs, DVDs, games, and multimedia. It is accessible enough that novices feel comfortable quickly, yet powerful enough for serious professionals. SONAR is available in two versions: the Producer Edition, which retails for $499, and the Studio Edition, which retails for $299. SONAR is a PC-compatible application.
