Paul Carberry is currently one of the most successful jumps jockey riding. Coming from one of Ireland's leading 'racing families', Carberry has been a highly respected and stylish champion jockey for many years. Despite the risks he daily encounters, he has a reputation for high jinks and fun-living. As the title of his book suggests, he charts his remarkable story as a professional jump jockey, the moments of glory, the setbacks and his sometimes riotous life away from the course. Despite all of his success, Carberry has faced problems off the track. In 2005, he was arrested and charged over an alleged incident which took place on board an Aer Lingus flight from Malaga to Dublin. Carberry supposedly set fire to a newspaper on the flight. In 2009, Carberry was suspended for 30 days by the Referrals Committee of the Turf Club after he failed an alcohol breath test at Naas Racecourse. Following his suspension, Carberry has vowed not to drink again until his career as a jockey is complete.
